Anjorie Kalyan Samiti, in close collaboration with Uttarakhand Science, Education and Research Centre (U-SERC), conducted a disability awareness program for the community from around Vikas Nagar Tehsil of Dehradun District on 26th December 2019 from 10AM-2PM. This program held with the generous support of the Doon Glocal School, Jamanpur, Selaqui and was attended by over 100 community members.
The focus of the program was awareness about invisible disabilities such as hearing impairment, mental retardation, autism, learning disabilities, psychology and mental health, and disabilities caused due to blood disorders. The talks on these subjects were delivered by experts in respective fields viz Mrs. Anjali Agrawal, Ms. Pragya Bhardwaj, Dr. Rashi Bhatnagar and Dr. Sujata Sinha. In addition, a talk on skill development for the disabled was also given by Mr. Shahab Naqvi of Saahas Foundation. The program concluded with an interactive session with the community members and was moderated by Dr. Kusum Rawat.
